Helping You Become Your Own First Responder

We started this business in 2020. Our purpose is to offer small, personalized classes for those who want to help themselves but don't know how. Safety is our number one focus.

Most of our classes are small in size — 1 to 5 students per instructor — so you get maximum training and attention. We offer basic firearms training as well as medical and emergency preparedness for the Responsible Citizen.

What We Teach

Training Classes Offered

Intro to Handguns

This 3.5-hour non-shooting class taught in Ballard will get you started on your path to responsible handgun ownership. In a small group setting under the direction of an NRA instructor and former Army officer, you will operate real handguns with dummy ammunition and practice the fundamentals of shooting using laser-enabled training guns.

HB 1143 Compliant

Home Defense Planning

This 2-hour class teaches you how to make a Home Defense Plan, prepare your home inside and outside, teach your family what to do, and get the necessary equipment and training required to protect against a home invasion. Learn about WA State use of force laws as well as lethal and non-lethal options for protection.

Emergency Preparedness

Are you ready for the next natural or man-made emergency? Do you have a plan for your family to stay safe? Do you know what skills and equipment are needed for the kinds of things that go wrong in the Pacific NW? This is not a doomsday class — it's about taking practical steps now to avoid problems later.

Stop The Bleed

Do you know how to pack a wound or apply a tourniquet to stem a massive hemorrhage? This free class is taught by a local EMT and you will get hands-on experience with the techniques and medical equipment needed to save someone's life.

Free Gun Safety Class

Once a month, we offer a free 90-minute class to the public covering the rules of firearms safety, safe storage methods, how to talk with children about guns, suicide prevention, and the relevant WA State gun laws. Become a more responsible gun owner. It's free!

Private Lessons or Group Classes

Based on what you want to learn, we can customize your training to focus on specific skills at an hourly rate. If you want to arrange a private class for a group, we can make that happen too.
